Google now allows online gambling AdWords advertisements to target the UK. Advertisers must be registered with the Gambling Commission and provide a valid operating license number held in the UK, Malta, Isle of Man, Alderney, Gibraltar, or Tasmania.

To help gaming affiliates take advantage of Google's decision to open AdWords to UK gambling affiliates, Income Access is offering new PPC tracking tools. With these tools, UK casino gambling affiliates will be able to track their referrals from Google AdWords throughout the entire lifecycle of a player.

Nicky Senyard, chief executive officer of Income Access, said: "Through our Affiliate Custom Tracking tools, best UK casino gambling affiliates will be able to track their referrals right from when they acquire them via AdWords. This functionality will be available to affiliates in both the Income Access network and third party program powered by our software."

Casinos Warm to the Idea of Legal Online Gaming

Strip casinos have been struggling lately to keep up their gaming revenues. Fewer people are visiting Las Vegas and that means even less are gambling. But could the cure for the downturn be reaching out to would-be gamblers in their own homes?

Online gambling sites offer the same variety of games that most Strip casinos do -- from sports betting, to poker and even bingo. But current laws keep online casino gambling out of the U.S., something that many casinos supported. But some are now seeing it as an opportunity.

The trip to the casino would be only a clink away, and the tables are filled with eager players. Online casinos have been giving gamblers a place to play casino game without the trip to Las Vegas for years, but play is neither legal nor regulated.

"Basically people are allowed to gamble but they don't have any of the protections they would get from legal gaming," said David Schwartz with UNLV's Center for Gaming Research.

When the sites first began in the 1990's, the big casinos feared they would take away players, but now they are seeing the possibilities. If the laws are changed, existing casinos would likely be licensed before foreign based top online casino sites, opening the door for big names like MGM and Harrah's to reach new gamblers.

"Having legal online gaming would really help the Strip casinos with their marketing. It would help them find out who is gambling out there," said Schwartz.

Hitting the casino table would no longer mean plane tickets, hotel rooms, and time away from home. But some gamblers say that's the fun.

"You get something for your money then instead of sitting in front of a computer," said Joe Bonin.

The revenue made from online gambling and sports books would be small compared to the action the actual casinos see. Experts say going online would actually be a much better marketing tool than an economic one.

"I don't think it would magically save everything. It may help reverse the decline, but obviously they are going to have to get more people coming in here if they want to bring the revenues up," said Schwartz.

Some feel the new Obama Administration could take steps toward overturning the rules currently keeping internet gambling out of the U.S., but there is no timeline on it right now.

Slot Hall Gambling Limits Keep Rising In The UK

Tuesday, January 6, 2009 · 0 comments

In 2009, the UK will be once again leading the way into the future of gambling. For the second time in two years, online casino gambling limits are going up in slot parlors and clubs.

The gambling industry has been lobbying the government to raise the limits allowed on slot machines. The plan has received heavy opposition, some of that opposition even coming from Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Brown, however, although opposed to expanded casino guide gambling, understands the need for revenue in the gambling industry to continue growing. Therefore he has supported the raised limits despite being ridiculed for his decision.

He claims that, "if an economy is not moving", then there is a need for something to be done. That something at this point in time was to raise the limits in places where slots are offered.

The opposition comes from the usual suspects in online casinos. Church groups are concerned about the increased limits leading to an increase in problem gambling. There has been no evidence that will be the case.

Brown has already shot down a plan for a super best UK casino in Manchester, so he has publicly shown that he does not care for expanded gambling. The revenue increase is estimated at millions of dollars a year, something that Brown could not ignore.
